Eyelessness
Today I woke up blind
thus, I kept my eyes shut.
My peripheral vision
temporarily unavailable.
My sieving eye-lashes
indisputably impaired.
The birds are singing
of a repulsive shiny day.
It has been raining for weeks
although it’s almost summer.
I know that I could count
on my remaining senses
or I could easily ask for help
from a fluorescent existence.
But today I’m too busy
drowning in eyelessness
and my hands are too cold
to guide you in the darkness.
